Without communication between departments in the hotel there will be chaos that is unwanted. The front office departmentof the hotel is responsible for guest reservations, registration, service, and payment. With a crashed system, I would share with the front office information on guests, room rates, and folio. Guests reservation details are important for the front office to know about because it shows when the guest is due to arrive and their room type requested. By knowing when arrivals will be occurring at the hotel, the front office can make sure that their personnel are ready to help guests with whatever it may be. Room rates must be known by the front office because they need to be able to relay that information to guests inquiring about staying at the hotel. Also, guests’ folio is crucial for the front office to have as it contains a detailed list of room purchases and other charges the guest made.
